About Russ

Russ Gera is a New York–based photographer originally from New Zealand, with nearly 20 years of experience working throughout the United States. His work spans still life, product, fashion, editorial, and lifestyle photography, with a particular focus on thoughtful composition, distinctive lighting, and creating images with a strong visual point of view.

Russ approaches each project with a balance of technical experience and creative curiosity, bringing a considered eye to lighting, composition, styling, and detail. He enjoys the collaborative nature of photography and working closely with clients, art directors, stylists, and creative teams to develop imagery that feels both intentional and engaging.

With extensive experience across commercial and editorial productions, Russ is equally comfortable creating highly polished e-commerce imagery or more conceptual visual work. His goal is always to create dynamic, memorable images that capture attention while remaining true to the character of the subject and the vision of the project.
